Agape Farm Who we Are

Our CSA shares tend to sell out very fast, and we end up making a long waiting list every year of people who are BUMMED to have missed out. So don't wait, if you don't have to. We are a family of 7, our kids love helping us with growing food, tending to the animals, and share the homesteading, homeschooling lifestyle.

I know it seems weird to sign up for summer produce and flower subscriptions in the dead of winter, but now is when we farmers are doing the largest chunk of spending for the whole year. Now is when we buy seeds and planting stock, compost, potting soil, gas for the greenhouse, and any supplies we need. And it's also when our income is at its leanest, as you can imagine, since there's nothing but goats in the fields right now, your commitment to our farm early in the year directly supports and impacts how the season to come will unfold. These also make great gifts for your loved ones!

Our Ideal customer-CSAs are not just a pre-order vegetable program and flower subscription-they are grassroots crop insurance. Nearly all small, diverse farms lack access to government crop or disaster insurance. CSAs are a way for the communities that surround and are fed by a farm to directly contribute to a farm's resiliency by offering financial security in exchange for a share of the harvest--whatever that means, from bumpercrops to busts. CSA members are not entitled to a set dollar-amount worth of food each week regardless of what the season brings, they are along for the ride with us, and luckily we're really good at what we do.

Most years members have veggies coming out of their ears, and that's awesome and we love sharing the abundance when it comes our way. But it's the years when something goes wrong that we fully understand the real purpose of a CSA. And you can see, too, why investing in a farm CSA for many years in a row, and building that relationship, through ups and downs, makes so much sense.

It is always our intention and mission and purpose to feed people well, and take our members on a delicious, highly-varied journey through the season, from the first tender greens and savory herbs to heavy boxes full of cabbages and pumpkins.

It is by far a more satisfying experience for everyone to have members who really understand what it is we do, or want to learn. We want kind folks who are excited to be a part of our farm! We want the adventurous folks who are eager to eat in close relationship to what's happening outside. We want the passionate people, and those who are game to try new things, to build relationships, to be a part of something bigger than all of us. We want newbies as well as our beloved returning members. We want people who love to eat, enjoy unique beautiful flowers, learn, and experience the fullness of life. People who value beauty and substance and complexity. People who care about the ground, their bodies, their communities, and the miracle that is beautiful, generous food. We want to build the kind of community where you stop in for one thing, and end up chatting for an hour and leave with a light heart and a smile on your face, with a solution to a problem you'd been struggling with, and a dinner date next week.

The Advantages of being part of our CSA. Farm Fresh Food is picked the Same day, You know exactly where your food is grown, the practices, and assurance it was grown Organically. Some food travels for hundreds of miles, thus spoiling more quickly, and lacking flavor, and crucial vitamins. Another advantage is you are Boosting our local economy and supporting local farmers so that we can succeed. Every year we loose more and more local farmers, because our community shops at a walmart, or at large chain grocery stores rather than sourcing their food from local farms. Do your part and support Local, it's great to start with food, and move to your everyday shopping. It helps the whole community thrive!
